Settlement Services International – CultureReady workshops

People with disability from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds use disability services at only about a half to one-third of the rate of people born in Australia. (Still Outside the Tent).

CultureReady helps disability service providers work more effectively with people from CALD backgrounds. Run by Settlement Services International (SSI), these free workshops aim to equip disability service providers (NDIS registered or those intending to seek NDIS registration in the next 18 months) to provide culturally responsive services.

There is on-request training for organisations as well as public calendar bookings.

Workshops:

  • Fundamentals of culturally responsive practice in the disability context
  • Engaging CALD communities
  • Working with language services
  • Recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce

Workshop description and booking information available at the CultureReady webpage.

The CultureReady project is one of 16 projects funded under the Jobs and Market Fund, announced in the 2018-19 Budget to support the growth of the NDIS market and workforce.
