Competition for good staff is one of the biggest issues facing employers in the care and support sector. In today’s labour market finding the right person for the right job is more than putting up a job ad.
Attracting the right people starts in the workforce planning stage. Understanding what skills and capacities are needed and where to find them is crucial for employers of all sizes across the sector.
WorkAbility Qld and Jobs Queensland have released a free workforce planning resource – the Workforce Planning Connect Toolkit – to help employers proactively meet workforce challenges.
What is the Workforce Planning Connect Toolkit?
The Toolkit is a free set of resources designed to support employers across Australia through the workforce planning process.
The Toolkit has been designed for human resources professionals, workforce planners, sole traders, and people involved with recruitment to:
- support capacity building and skills in this area
- address workforce challenges, opportunities and needs
- plan for future workforce in the sector
- develop a complete workforce plan
The Toolkit has been designed for the disability sector, but the workforce planning concepts described in the Toolkit are equally applicable nationally across the care and support sector.
