What is Transition Assistance Funding?


Transition Assistance Funding was available to support providers, looking to deliver National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) services, transition to the NDIS market and grow their businesses.

Under the Boosting the Local Care Workforce Program, eligible service providers could apply for Transition Assistance Funding valued at up to $20,000 (excluding GST) to purchase tailored professional services, including business advice, to grow their businesses and workforce capability.

The second round of Transition Assistance Funding opened on 15 October and closed on 8 November 2019.


The impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on recipients of Transition Assistance Funding

Extension requests

If you would like to request an extension due to the impact of Coronavirus on your organisation, please contact transitionassistance@blcwprogram.com.au and outline the reason for your request.

Based on the requests we receive and advice from Government, we will continue to develop our extension policy and provide a decision as soon as possible.

Eligible activities

The eligibility criteria remain unchanged, however there may be scope for recipients to use TAF to help manage the impact of Coronavirus that may include receiving advice/assistance on:

  • Business continuity planning
  • Risk management
  • Cash flow management
  • Development of policies and procedures
  • Strategies to retain staff, or manage the impact of Coronavirus on your staff
  • Strategies to provide services or work remotely
  • Development of online or phone services.
